China and Peru have signed an agreement for cooperation of patent examination
Earlier this year, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of China and the National Institute for Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property of Peru have signed an agreement for cooperation of patent examination. Since the memorandum of understanding signed by China and Peru in 2012, China and Peru have cooperated in the fields of intellectual property with good results ever since. As an important partner of SIPO in Latin America, the National Institute for Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property of Peru as the competent authority for competition matters has committed to advance the development of intellectual property system, protect free and equal competition, and protect consumer rights in Peru. The current cooperation agreement will make the National Institute for Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property of Peru to become the first official user in South America of the cloud patent examination system developed by SIPO.
