Cooperation between JPO and USPTO regarding Classification for Patents and Designs ~Japan applicants can obtain more secure rights in the United States~

On February 23, 2016, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) signed Memorandums of Cooperation regarding classification in the fields of intellectual property (patents and designs). JPO Strengthens Cooperation with Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand ~1. Commencement of data exchange including patent publications and 2. Extension of PPH pilot program~

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) of Thailand agreed to start exchanging patent information/data, including patent publications, held by both offices from January 2016. The JPO and the DIP of Thailand also agreed to extend the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program and continue the PPH pilot program in 2016 and beyond. Read more
